Ivan Rakitic Reveals Lionel Messi's Neighbour Were So Noisy He Bought Their House

Noisy Neighbours can be frustrating at times, but when they are disturbing a footballing god like Lionel Messi, the best way to deal with them is to keep them quiet.

The best way to deal with a noisy neighbour is to buy their house, and this is what Messi did in 2013.

The Argentina superstar lives in the fashionable suburb of Castelldefels and has team-mate Luis Suarez living nearby, but found some rowdy neighbours directly next-door were making life difficult for Messi and his young family .

Rakitic, who lives in the same plush neighbourhood half an hour south of Barcelona, told Spanish newspaper Dairio Gol:

"I did not have any problems with the neighbours, not like Messi in Castelldefels – he had to buy his house from the neighbours because they were noisy and so he could be alone."

The paper reveals that Messi's cash-strapped neighbours rented out the rooms in their house in 2013 and the new tenants were "nosy", "rude" and played loud music which resulted in "unease" for Messi and his young family.

Messi initially tried to install a dividing wall but the structure didn't meet building regulations - with his neighbours threatening a legal battle - so he just gave up and bought the house instead.
