In Case You Don't Know Tiger Wood Is Not Dead

Tiger Woods has declared: “I am not dead – I am ready” as the former world No.1 prepares for his latest comeback in the Bahamas this week.

The American superstar, now down to world No.898, has not played in a competitive event for 15 months after back surgery.

But Woods, who will tee up in his own event at the Hero World Challenge on Thursday, insisted: “I’m not dead. I’m ready to go. I want to compete.’’

The 40-year-old pulled out of his planned return at the Safeway Open last month after admitting his game was “vulnerable”.

He added: “I have way more shots now, because I’ve played way more golf. I can hit all the shots now, on call.”

Woods will have been out for 466 days since playing in the Wyndham Championship in August last year – and has not won a tournament since 2013. He won his 14th and last Major in June 2008.
