Lucas Leiva Admits It Was Very Hard To Play EFL Cup Game Against Leeds As He Knew Some Players In The Chapecoense Team

Liverpool Midfielder, Lucas Leiva paid tribute to the Chapecoense plane crash victims after Liverpool's win over Leads United in the EFL cup on Tuesday.

Lucas, who skippered Liverpool in the cup tie, asked Jurgen Klopp if he could wear a black armband for the match, and it was decided that all the players would do so in memory of those that lost their lives.

"It was a terrible accident," Lucas said after the win, which booked Liverpool's place in the last four"

"I have a few people I played with, some young players, it was very hard for me to play tonight, because I know a lot of people there.

"We just hope the families have the support they need and the victims they rest in peace."

There was a minute's silence prior to kick-off at Anfield and at the KCOM Stadium, where Hull beat Newcastle on a penalty shootout.
