OK, Premier League footballers who play for one of the top teams in the division AND have previously scored in a Champions League final are known around the world then.
Wrong again!
Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez was totally confused about who Gundogan was so he had a chat with fellow countryman Claudio Bravo ahead of the Gunners' game against Manchester City on December 18.
You know the game where EVERY Citizen's star wore a back-to-front home kit sporting 'Gundogan 8' in tribute to their crocked teammate?
The display of support was a little odd - something that was picked up on at the time - but did make sense nonetheless.
Sanchez couldn't make head or tails of what was going on though, and not because the tribute was bizarre, but because he didn't have a clue who Gundogan was.
The Chilean needed Bravo to clear up the confusing situation for him. He asks the shot-stopper: "What happened? Who's that?"
Bravo replies: "Gundogan" and Sanchez asks whether he is a youth player.
The goalkeeper does his best to explain, and tells Sanchez he is in fact a full fledged German international, to which Sanchez then replies: "Haha, I don't know anything."
Brilliant.
