Chelsea Are The Best Dribblers In The Whole Europe

Chelsea are breaking records and also tearing stats apart, no wonder they are on top of the premier league table.

There are many different theories behind Chelsea's outstanding 2016/17.

Some put The Blues' incredible Premier League campaign down to Antonio Conte's brilliant management. Some say the switch to 3-4-3 has been the key factor. Some even suggest their success can be traced to the moment someone got Diego Costa to realise that he's a footballer, not a boxer.

However, the stats you can see below may provide a whole new explanation for Chelsea's belting season. They are RIDICULOUSLY good at dribbling.

Conte's side have 'completed' 14.7 dribbles per game so far. According to Opta, "a successful or completed dribble means the player beats the defender while retaining possession".

In other words, a Chelsea player has gone past an opponent with the ball nearly 15 times in every match they have played - and that makes them the most successful, efficient dribblers in the whole of Europe.

When you look at the dribbling stats for all of the top five European leagues (England, Spain, France, Italy and Germany), Chelsea's 14.7 successful dribbles per game puts them top of the list for the continent. Barcelona are second with 14.3, while Tottenham are slightly further back in third, with 13.2.
