Copa Del Rey- Nine-man Athletic Bilbao Defeats Barcelona

Nine-man Athletic Bilbao held out to earn a 2-1 victory against Barcelona in the first leg of their Copa del Rey last 16 clash.

Goals from Aritz Aduriz and Inaki Williams sent the Basques ahead, although Lionel Messi pulled one back from a spectacular free-kick.

Neymar was denied a penalty as the Catalans tried to fight their way back into the game, but Raul Garcia and Ander Iturraspe were both dismissed for fouls on the Brazilian star.

Barcelona pushed for an equaliser but the hosts held out to set up an intriguing second leg next week.
