Things We Learnt In The EPL
1. Leicester City couldn't build on their last week win over Westham as they and Middlesbrough played out a boring 0-0 draw in the first new year fixture.
2. 10 man Manchester City outclassed Burnley at the Etihad stadium : Aguero proved the difference between the two sides as he came from the bench to score the winning goal for City as they won by 2-1. Fernandinho was sent off in the game.
3. Tony Pulis Westbrom are looking decent as each week passes as they left Hull city with one win in 17 games. Hull city were the first to score but Westbrom responded with 3 goals.
4 Everton defeated a toothless Southampton side to stay 7th on the table.
5. Liverpool, what can we say about Liverpool, except that they failed to close the gap between them and the league leaders Chelsea. Liverpool didn't have the right to draw this game but Defoe was on hand to rescue a point for Sunderland as he helped his side came from behind twice to end the game 2-2.
6. Manchester Utd stretched their winning streak to 6 in the league and unbeaten in 13 in all competition. They may count themselves lucky against Westham as Mike Dean and his Lines Men were totally off point as a wrong red card and an offside goal helped Man U to a win. Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimovic offside goal punished 10 man Westham !
