Zlatan Ibrahimovic Hits Back At Critics

Manchester United golden oldie Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hit back at critics who said he was too old to succeed in the Premier League and accused them of “talking s**t”.

Ibrahimovic ended 2016 with 50 goals to his name, 17 of them coming with the Old Trafford giants following his free switch from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

He should have joined Lionel Messi as the top scorer in world football last year, but fell one short of the Barcelona star after having a goal ruled out in United’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough.

But Ibrahimovic claimed he has had the last laugh on those who claimed he was past it and would not be able to cut it in the Premier League at 35.

“It gives me a lot of energy, trust me,” said Ibrahimovic. “A lot of energy, because they get paid to talk s**t and I get paid to play with my feet - that’s how I enjoy it.

“I had a fantastic year.

"At PSG it was amazing, and I came to United and my first six months here have been more than amazing.

“I came to the Premier League and everyone thought it would not be possible but, like always, I make them eat their balls.

“I’m super-happy and I feel good. I don’t know how many years I have left, but I’m enjoying the football. Every year, they [United] have been calling me and they was not feeling good, so I wanted to come when everyone thought I was over [the hill].”
